Since 2013, Dr. Kavitha Konanur has been living out her dream of being a dentist! For her, creating beautiful smiles and helping patients understand the importance of oral health is incredibly rewarding since it directly impacts their quality of life. Plus, the genuine relationships that are built along the way create a more positive treatment experience and alleviate pain and anxiety, which is extremely important as well. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Although Dr. Konanur was always interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, she didn’t settle on dentistry until her junior year of undergrad. She realized that it combined both her artistic and technical skills, and she knew then and there she had found her calling! To this day, she loves that she gets to work with her hands and work directly with patients every day.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Konanur completed her undergraduate degree and dental doctorate at West Virginia University. In addition to having more than a decade of experience working in private practices, she also completed a one-year AEGD Residency before moving to Fort Mill in 2021. Of course, she’s also pursued continuing education throughout the years and has maintained active memberships with professional organizations as well.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Konanur and her husband, Bobby, have been married for seven years and have two children together, Kaira and Krish. While her favorite thing to do outside the office is spending time with her family, she also has lots of hobbies, including cooking new recipes, traveling, watching sports especially WVU football and working out. Here’s an interesting fact about her: her daughter was born on Christmas Day!
