Fort Mill, SC Dentist
Get to Know Dr. Chelsea Anderson
Dr. Anderson officially joined our dental practice in 2018, although as the daughter of Dr. Michele Jasper, she has been around dentistry all of her life. Her favorite part of her job as a Fort Mill dentist is getting to know each patient and their families on a personal basis. She loves getting to make your smile dreams a reality, while making her patients healthier and more confident!
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Growing up, it always stuck out to Dr. Anderson just how much her mom loved her job. She says that Dr. Jasper seemingly laughed the whole day and was truly passionate about her work. When it was time to choose a career, Dr. Anderson wanted a job that was a mix of helping people, working with her hands, and owning her own business…so dentistry was the perfect fit!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Anderson attended Furman University in Greenville, SC, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She then went on to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC for dental school and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine. Dr. Anderson graduated at the top of her class at MUSC and was selected to be part of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. She was also awarded the American Academy of Periodontology Award for Outstanding Achievement in Periodontics.
Over the years, she has attended numerous continuing education courses on restorative and general dentistry. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and is the President of the Tri-County Dental Association. She also serves on the advisory board for the York Technical College dental programs and has previously taught in their dental hygiene clinic.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Anderson was born and raised in Fort Mill and is excited to settle down in her hometown with her husband Ed, who is an attorney in Rock Hill. The two of them are avid sports fans... college football, NFL, MLB, you name it, they watch it! Their son George made Dr. Anderson a first-time mom and Dr. Jasper a first-time grandmother! When she does have free time, she loves true crime podcasts and likes to keep her hands busy with crafty projects like needlepointing and party planning.
